Fabric care and information

Helen screen prints onto fabrics.  Generally these will be Kona cottons (100% cotton) and Essex linens (50% linen/50% cotton).  If you would like us to print onto a different fabric, please contact us at helen@helen-steele.com.

Panel sizes for screen printed fabrics are 17.5" x 13.5" (or 45 cm x 35 cm).  The size of the printed area will vary, but are generally A3 size but each print description will confirm the exact size.  Please do take a moment to check your tape measure if you are unsure.

Washing Instructions

Having spent a lot of time choosing fabrics and making your item, you will want to take care washing your quilt, pouch or other make.  Screen printed fabrics need to be cared for gently and washed in a cool wash.  We all know that children/pets do despicable things to our treasured quilts, but they can be washed in a washing machine on, say 30 degrees (ie cool wash), and with a very gentle disinfectant product.  If you think you want to put your fabrics into a very hot wash, please contact us BEFORE you do this.  We do not accept any responsibility for someone who washes the fabrics on anything other than a cool wash.

We all take a lot of time creating individual items and want to ensure durability, so it's sensible to take care washing.
